What to Bring to the Beach This Summer

Summer’s in full swing and the beach is your oyster. It may have been months since you last lotioned up and pulled on that suit, so we’re here to give you a few tips on how to stay cool, hydrated, and happy on your next beach trip.

1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

We’ve heard it since we were kids: In many cases, if you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated. With a little prep, you can avoid this state by skipping dehydrating alcohol and taking in some good old H20. But trust us, water doesn’t have to be boring.

When you can’t make it to the tropics, the next best thing is Naked Organic Coconut Water. The potassium and electrolytes will leave you feeling like life’s a beach. Feeling bubbly? Pack some sparkling LaCroix Seltzer in summer flavors like Mango and Peach-Pear. Want something more complex? Make a refreshing iced tea Green-tini mocktail with Teas’ Tea Organic Unsweetened Green Tea and store it in your own reusable water bottle — we’re obsessed with this Wellness Stainless Steel Water Bottle. It keeps cold fluids cold up to 24 hours and hot fluids up to 12, so you can use it long after beach days have turned to school days. And if you’re more of a “still waters run deep” type, VOSS Artesian Water is the beach sidekick for you.

2. Keep calm and lotion on

UV rays are invisible, but sunburns aren’t. Avoid turning red by being smart about your SPF. Whether you’re going to the beach or the office, it pays to protect yourself with an everyday facial lotion that contains SPF, like Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer. When you’re going into the sun to play all day, Coppertone Water Babies Sunscreen is a classic for a reason. At SPF 50, it has broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection, is water resistant for up to 80 minutes and has moisturizers and vitamin E so it’s gentle on skin. Win-win!

3. Mouth off

Your skin isn’t the only thing in need of protection from the elements. Give your lips special treatment with eos Lip Balm. Our six-pack has vanilla bean, pomegranate raspberry, and sweet mint, each packed with vitamin E, soothing shea butter, and jojoba oil. Want even more lip-smacking moisture? Spread the lip love to your friends with our ChapStick multipack in flavors like strawberry, cherry, original, and the beach-perfect original moisturizer with SPF 15.

4. Eat it

Hanger strikes at the most inconvenient times. Don’t trek across sand to get a sad beach hot dog; pack your own feast and enjoy it from the comfort of your beach towel. Single unit snack packs like GoldfishSun Chips, and Cape Cod Kettle-Cooked Potato Chips are the perfect addition to your beach bag. Prefer to pack your own? Stock a Ziploc On The Go Bag with your favorite snacks like Prince & Spring Mountain Trail Mix or Snyder’s Mini Pretzels and watch them disappear faster than summer!
